MM Hills - Day 1 - 3rd April 2017

ಗೋಪ್ರಾಣಭಿಕ್ಷೆ…
ಮೊದಲ ದಿನ … ೩-೪-೧೭

.. ಬಲಿಪಗುಳಿಯಿಂದ 7.5 ಟನ್ ಹಾಳೆ ಹುಡಿಯನ್ನು ಎರಂಬಾಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.
ಸುಮಾರು 200 ಗೋವುಗಳು ಇಂದು ಬಂದಿದ್ದವು.
ನಾಳೆಯಿಂದ 7 – 8 ಸಾವಿರ ಗೋವುಗಳು ( ಸೂಳೆಕೊಬ್ಬೆ, ಮೀಣ್ಯಂ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳಿಂದ) ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರುತ್ತವೆ.
.. ಮಂಡ್ಯದಿಂದ ಕಬ್ಬು ( ನೀರು ಇಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ಅರ್ಧ ಬೆಳೆದ ಕಬ್ಬು) ನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಲು ಮಾತನಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
.. ನಾಳೆ ಒಂದು ಲಾರಿ ಬರಲಿದೆ. ಎರಂಬಾಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.
.. ಎರಂಬಾಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀಮಠದಿಂದ ದೊಡ್ಡಿ ಹಾಕಲು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅಣೆಕಟ್ಟಿನ ನೀರು ಇದೆ.
.. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು ಸೇರುವ 8 ಸಾವಿರ ಗೋವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೇವು ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ.
.. ಪ್ರತಿ ದಿನ 15 ರಿಂದ 20 ಟನ್ ಕಬ್ಬಿನ ಮೇವು ಮುಂದಿನ ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳು ಸಿಗಬಹುದು.
.. ಕಬ್ಬಿನ ಮೇವು ಕೆಜಿಗೆ ರೂ 3 ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ.
.. ನಾಳೆ ದೊಡ್ಡಿ ಹಾಕಲು ಇನ್ನೊಂದೆರಡು ಸ್ಥಳ ವೀಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಲಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

MM Hills, Day 1 – 3rd April 2017

First consignment of 7.5 ton crushed Areca leaves reaches Erambadi. Nearly 200 cows came running into the spot. From tomorrow about 7 to 8,000 cows are expected to be brought here from neighbouring villages.
We are planning to put up a camp (called Doddi in Kannada) here since water source is also good here from the dam nearby.
We have also identified half grown sugarcane crop (due to lack of water) as a source of fodder from nearby Mandya. We expect this supply to be about 15-20 ton daily available for about a month costing Rs3/kg. Tomorrow we will be going around to identify 2 more camp sites.
Here you can see the herd of cows feasting on the areca leaves, their new found taste!!.
